Sustainability
We recognize the environmental impact of the logistics industry and are dedicated to reducing our carbon footprint, one opportunity at a time. Our approach involves evaluating and improving our current processes while evaluating future investments, innovations, and pilot programs to maximize efficiency for our company and our customers.
ITS Fleet
- Average truck age of 2 years or younger
- Industry-leading average miles per gallon of 8.19, which is .69 over the industry average of 6.5 – 7.5
- All tractors are equipped with wind faring units and low resistance wheel covers
- All trailers are equipped with side skirts
- All tractors are equipped with a 67 MPH speed limiter, for both safety and sustainability
- Limited idle times and automatic shutoffs at less than 5 minutes
- Consistent evaluation of forward-thinking pilot programs — electric vehicles, hydrogen fuel, and truck-to-intermodal conversions
In 2020, the US EPA SmartWay Transport Program recognized ITS Logistics as a high performing truck carrier for all metrics and a top 10% most efficient US, domestic carrier.
The EPA launched the SmartWay program in 2004 to measure, benchmark, and improve transportation efficiency. This voluntary public-private program provides a comprehensive and well-recognized system for tracking, documenting and sharing information about fuel use and freight emissions across supply chains.

- Newly renovated offices and warehouses equipped with resource saving appliances, including 100% LED lighting, motion sensors, skylights, 100% low-flow plumbing, air circulation systems and xeriscaping/low-water usage systems
- Company-wide recycling program — corrugates, paper, plastics, and pallets
Processes
- Teams and technology dedicated to eliminating empty miles across the ITS fleet and carrier network
- Constantly evaluating EV pilot programs, hydrogen pilot programs, truckload to intermodal opportunities, equipment modification EV programs, etc
- Prioritized third-party motor carrier relationships with carriers that have elevated sustainability aligning with our internal standards and the standards of our customers
- Continual partnerships with some of the biggest industry leaders and pioneers in the EV and alternative fuels industries to drive sustainability forward
ITS Logistics is a proud supporter of the Nevada Battery Coalition (NBC) and its mission to establish Nevada as the leading lithium ion battery ecosystem in North America.
As a member of NBC, we contribute our services to developing Nevada's EV ecosystem, from sourcing raw materials, to manufacturing and production, to supply chain. We are proud to support this initiative and be apart of it.
