There are a variety of things that are important to job seekers when they are looking for a new job. At ITS, we are passionate about promoting our employees from within—in fact, our downtown division promoted almost 30 team members in 2020 and are on track to promote more than 40 team members in 2021! Job candidates ask us all the time what the job promotion path looks like, so here’s a brief overview.

What is the most common path of promotion?

Many of our downtown team members start as Logistics Sales Executives (LSEs). LSEs are responsible for developing and maintaining carrier relationships, creating transportation solutions and delivering exceptional customer service. On average, LSEs make $85,000 in their first 12 months in the role and our commission structure is uncapped. When new LSEs join the team, they are provided with specific details and information on their possible promotion path, including titles, training opportunities and job responsibilities. Our goal is to make this as attainable as possible and support them along the way. The most common promotion path is:

  • Logistics Sales Executive
  • Sr. Logistics Sales Executive
  • Expedited Manager
  • Division Manager
  • Division Director

We have a very straight forward promotion path that allows our team members total visibility into the process, so they know exactly what they need to do to be considered for advancement to the next level in their career. This can include such things as tenure, completing additional training and development, demonstrating leadership qualities and strength in managing and developing others, and by growing additional business.
