There are a lot of ways to measure the characteristics of a good workplace – employee retention rate, average starting salary, engagement. These metrics do matter, but they only show half of the picture and do little to color in the actual day-to-day experience, which can’t be fit into a spreadsheet. Experience is more like weather, felt but not always seen. And the ITS experience is about the culture, the people, and the community.

Experience How ITS Logistics Sets Your Career Up for Success
“The great thing about ITS is that everybody starts the same way. They put you in the best position to be able to talk to carriers, talk to customers, and understand what the industry is doing and how the industry reacts in certain times of the year. These are all tools you're going to learn. These are all tools you're going to use on a day-to-day basis, and you're going to be able to build on those.
Training doesn't stop after you come out of training class. You're going to have continued training on the floor. I'd say you'll be very proficient in what you're doing somewhere around 90 days. And then after those 90 days, you might be training somebody yourself. The main responsibilities are acting with a sense of urgency, being able to solve problems on the fly, and providing top-notch service to our customers.
The culture is exciting. The culture is dedication. The culture is the hive mind of being successful at everything we do. If you look around this place, we are connected in such a way that we hold each other accountable, and we actually have a sense of care. We're really connected with the people we work with on a day-to-day basis, and that's a big piece of our culture.
ITS offers you a platform to choose what really resonates with you. Just in the time I've been here, I've seen people go from one position and job title to another department and move on to really excel in those shoes. You can really do whatever it is that you want to do, and ITS is going to put you in a position to win.” - Andrei
Curious About a Career Path at ITS Logistics?
“My favorite part of being in this position is seeing people succeed. Once they get their first commission check, because it takes a while to get to that first commission check, I hear about it, and they come to me ecstatic about the fact that they just got it. I usually make a joke like, ‘Hey, okay, you're buying lunch today.’ That's very rewarding for me.
I started in February 2018 as a carrier specialist. My role and responsibility were dependent on obtaining and maintaining carrier relationships — same as it is now. I moved up to operational manager, running the operations on a team, and found that there was an internal posting for a training manager. I took that role and trained for about a year and a half.
Now, I'm in talent development. A typical day in my role: I'm going to meet up with my teammates. We're going to discuss what took place the night before, the day before, the week before. We really rely on being collaborative with one another, so that you can learn from my mistakes, I can learn from yours, and we can come up with a solution together. I'm really hands on with the newer hires. I check in with them daily and make sure that they're set up for success.
It's more than just our pinball machine or ping pong table. It's indescribable how you come into the office; you can kind of feel the energy, and that is just our culture.” - Dave
How ITS Logistics Fosters Success for Team Members in an Evolving Market
“With ITS, it's all day. It's fast paced. It's a good environment. You get to rely on your teammates a lot. We work hard to foster, maintain, and create relationships with our partner providers and our carriers. That’s what allows us to be successful and what allows us to create those long-lasting partnerships and be successful through an up-and-down market.
The onsite training process here at ITS is wonderful. It's approximately a month of being engaged in learning the industry. It is hands-on training, which is one of the most important parts. The company invests in you so that you're successful once you hit the floor.
The culture at ITS is exciting. It's contagious. It's fun. It's pretty much everything you'd want in a company. You come in every day, you're excited, and the people around you put you in a better mood, even on your worst days. It's a good place to be.
There are lots of events that bring the team together, and that's my favorite part. I really enjoy our annual tailgate for the Nevada games. It's a good opportunity to get everybody in office together, enjoy the weather, and support our local Wolf Pack.
The growth opportunities at ITS are endless. We have finance, we have marketing, we have recruiting, we have operations, and we have sales. But it comes down to you. Do you want to work hard? Do you want to put the effort in? Do you have the right attitude? If so, all the growth is there.” - Kenny
Kickstart Your Professional Growth with a Career Path at ITS Logistics
“My favorite part of my position is being able to work with people. We have a pretty big team; I manage 18 people, which means being able to work with them and manage our success based on their success. That’s when it works well.
I measure success in my position by making sure that everybody is happy — our customer is happy, operations are going well, and there are no hitches day to day. I spend a lot of time working with customers, speaking with them daily, and upholding ITS’ professional standard. That's how we do it every day. It's the bread and butter.
We also have a lot of fun, being out barbecuing, doing fun runs on Fridays, doing dress up days. If that’s not community, then I don’t know what else to call it. We’re all about hard work and integrity in everything we do. We work hard, we play hard, and make sure we’re always communicating. We got to work together, so we’re always talking to each other, making sure we know where everybody is at every day to get the job done.” - Jordan
Career Growth, Opportunities, and Teamwork at ITS Logistics
“My main responsibility is to oversee the drayage division and all the operations on a day-to-day basis. A typical day in my position is to come in, help my teams with any issues that they have, make sure our customers are happy, make sure that all the trainings are going smoothly.
The culture at ITS is one big family. We're here for each other through the highs and lows. Also, it's fun. We try to keep it light, but we work really hard.
During training, the topics that are covered are anything from safety, how to book a load, how to use our systems, definitions of a truck -- literally everything that you need to know to be a successful broker. We have a ton of different trainings that make you successful in your role. There are trainings, management trainings. Really, the growth here is what you put into it. Wherever you want to go in your career; we're here to help.
We put a lot of emphasis on teamwork; because if one member on your team isn't pulling their weight, it affects the whole team and the whole process. So, we’re always making sure that we work together as a team. That’s always going to be important at ITS because it's not an individual work environment. It's always a team-based role.” - Hayden
Grow Your Career with ITS Logistics
“I'd say the best part of taking this job is challenges that you'll be faced with. It'll help you grow personally and professionally.
As for the culture at ITS, we're very competitive here. We work closely with our teams. I like to tell people that we're very work hard, play hard. We hold each other accountable to be the best that we can be every day.
The initial training is four weeks, and after that you move on to two to three months in practical training. That training helped me be successful. I got to learn just how competitive it can be on the floor, and by the time I was on a team, I was up and running.
Since I've been here in my short two years, I've been promoted twice. ITS really values the importance of growth within. I first started here two years ago in carrier relations. I'm now working within sales, which means working closely with our customers.
At ITS, we foster a sense of community. If you've ever been inside of our office, we don't have cubicles. We all sit close with each other within our teams, which makes our communication top-notch.” - Alex
ITS Logistics: Where Community and Culture Meet
“It is very fun. I would say it's a pretty young age group, but with that, we're all spending time together outside of the office and having a good time in the office, playing ping pong, going out on the balcony. The job can definitely be high stress sometimes, but that's also what kind of bands you together and what helps you get through the hard times.
I am managing a team, helping them to grow professionally and making sure that all operations are running smoothly. I think it's important to know that people have lives outside of the office. Even though we're in a high-stress, 24/7 industry, the company makes time for everyone outside of the office. We have an afterhours team that allows us to sleep and that handles everything while we're enjoying our lives after work.
I knew nothing about logistics when I started. It was kind of like school, especially the first week with studying and tests. It was pretty difficult, but you learn so much. Plus, you get to spend time with people on the floor who already know what they're doing. You get to learn from other teams and everyone in different roles, and you get paid while you're doing all that. It’s something that a lot of companies don't offer. We'll take anybody in with zero knowledge, zero experience and train them to become the top carrier specialists in the office.” - Sarah
